Dry magnetic separators are devices that utilize magnetic
differences to separate minerals without water, enabling the dry
separation of magnetic and non-magnetic minerals. Their core
component is a permanent or electromagnetic magnetic system. Under
the influence of a magnetic field, magnetic particles adhere to the
surface of the magnetic drum and are carried to the discharge zone
by rotation, while non-magnetic particles fall naturally due to

Magnetic Separator Function
Magnetic separators, particularly the drum type shown here,
function to separate ferromagnetic materials (materials attracted
to magnets) from non-ferromagnetic materials in a mixture. This is
accomplished by strategically placing powerful permanent magnets or
electromagnets within a rotating drum or above a conveying system.
As material flows over or under the magnetic field, ferromagnetic
particles are attracted to the magnetic source and adhere to the
surface of the drum or belt. As the drum rotates or the belt is
freed from the magnetic field, the magnetic particles are released
and discharged, while the non-magnetic materials continue on their
original trajectory due to gravity or momentum. Key functions
